about

A love song for the sunset

lyrics

A marbled sky is home to precious few unpleasant things
A pallet thick with prose and joyous schemes, with richness from poor
I hope in time she'll see me gazing at her torchlight
We pack our things inside the mind when we drink it

We run away from all the chaos in the air
We run away from all the tangles in our hair
We run away from all the nonsense in the storms
We run away from all the wolves at our doors

I locked the door behind me, started the car and raced her down
The issues fell away and hit the floor like a dressing gown
She drew the clouds upon the canvas sky with magic ink
And kindled her fire on the horizon with her paintbrush

Then we run away from all the accidents of fate
We run away from all the weeds growing at the gate
We run away from all the nonsense in the storms
We run away from all the wolves at our doors
We run away from all the providence, the arrogance and the ignorance of sadness

We sail towards the coming ships, the coming war
We fly straight up, a vertical flock of joyous birds
We drink it in, we warm our feet, we're tipsy bats
We silhouette the shape of lightness on the ground

We run away from all the nonsense in the storms
We run away from all the wolves at our doors

A marbled sky is home to precious few unpleasant things
